Option Energy Solutions recently completed another quality boiler installation for a customer in West Sussex.
The customer’s old boiler was still running, but it had reached the end of its safe working life. Although the system was still managing to provide heating and hot water, there were several serious issues that meant replacement was the right option.
The Challenge
During inspection, it was clear the existing boiler and surrounding pipework were in poor condition.
One of the main issues was a badly rusted gas pipe, caused by a leaking expansion vessel. There was also a large hole drilled into the side of the old boiler, which raised further concerns about the condition and safety of the installation.
Overall, this was one of the most “written off” boilers we have seen that was somehow still working.
Our Solution
After discussing the options with the customer, they chose a Glow-worm Compact 24kW combi boiler.
This is an excellent entry-level boiler that offers fantastic value for money. It provides reliable heating and hot water without the premium price tag, making it a sensible choice for customers who want a dependable new boiler at a more affordable cost.
As part of the installation, we also made several improvements to the wider system.
What We Installed
We installed a brand-new Glow-worm Compact 24kW combi boiler, along with a new Glow-worm controller to give the customer simple control over their heating and hot water.
A magnetic system filter was also fitted to help keep the heating system cleaner and protect the new boiler over time.
The condensate pipework was replaced with a brand-new external condensate run, helping bring the installation up to a much better standard.
The Result
The customer was left with a clean, tidy and much safer boiler installation.
The new system is more reliable, easier to control and properly protected for the years ahead. Most importantly, the customer no longer has to rely on an ageing boiler that had clear safety and condition issues.
