First Viessmann Vitocal 150 Installation in Sussex – A Step Forward in Low Carbon Heating
This project completed in July 2025 marked an important milestone for our team at Option Energy Solutions, the installation and commissioning of our first Viessmann Vitocal 150 heat pump system in Sussex.
While every installation is different, this one stood out as a great example of how modern heat pump technology is continuing to evolve, offering improved performance, control, and efficiency for homeowners looking to move away from traditional heating systems.
The Challenge
As with many properties transitioning to low carbon heating, the key focus was ensuring that the system was designed and commissioned correctly from the outset.

With this being our first installation using the Vitocal 150 platform, it was important for us to fully understand and optimise the system to deliver the best possible results for the property.
Our Solution
We installed the Viessmann Vitocal 150 air source heat pump, a modern and highly efficient system designed to provide consistent heating and hot water at lower flow temperatures.
The system was carefully commissioned, with close attention paid to:
- Refrigerant circuit performance
- System pressures and flow rates
- Temperature differentials across the system
- Overall system balance and stability
Using the onboard diagnostics and controls, we were able to monitor real-time performance and ensure the system was operating exactly as intended.
